• Tritanmaly – This is a condition where a person often finds it difficult to infer between shades of yellow and blue. This condition is rarely observed.

Once upon a time in England, a Quaker purchased some scarlet stockings for himself thinking that that they were dark brown. The Quaker was none other than John Dalton, an eminent British Physicist who is credited as a pioneer of atomic theory. Interesting thing is that Dalton proudly wore the red stockings to his convocation day without realizing that he was making one of the biggest fashion blunders of all time. Dalton was fiercely scolded by one of his brothers for wearing such lousy colors to the convocation. Dalton became aware of this congenital defect only after that scolding incident.
Dalton’s recorded the details about this ocular condition in 1794. He stated that he and one of his brothers used to confuse pink with blue, and scarlet with green. Dalton spearheaded an era of research in this field and his findings were honored as Daltonism.
